زاهد ظاهرپرست از حال ما آگاه نیست
در حق ما هر چه گوید جای هیچ اکراه نیست
بنده پیر خراباتم که لطفش دایم است
ور نه لطف شیخ و زاهد گاه هست و گاه نیست
هر چه هست از قامت ناساز بی اندام ماست
ور نه تشریف تو بر بالای کس کوتاه نیست
این چه استغناست یا رب وین چه قادر حکمت است
کاین همه زخم نهان هست و مجال آه نیست
چیست این سقف بلند سادۀ بسیارنقش
زین معما هیچ دانا در جهان آگاه نیست
هر چه هست از قامت ناساز بی اندام ماست
ور نه تشریف تو بر بالای کس کوتاه نیست
تا چه بازی رخ نماید بیدقی خواهیم راند
عرصه شطرنج رندان را مجال شاه نیست

You puritan who’s focused on the physical aspect, you have no idea about our spiritual state
Whatever you say about us, you’re welcome to because it doesn’t hurt
I’m a devoted servant to the elder of the tavern, whose kindness is everlasting
If that weren’t the case, the kindness of the Sheikh and the puritan could be there sometimes and not others
All that happens is due to our disproportionate stature
Otherwise, your grace would never be disgraced by anyone
Oh Lord, how can this be self-sufficiency, and how can this be skillful wisdom
That there should be so many hidden wounds and no opportunity to sigh
What’s this tall, simple yet vividly decorated dome?
No wise person in the entire world is aware of this riddle
All that happens is due to our disproportionate stature
Otherwise, your grace would never be disgraced by anyone
We’ll advance a pawn until we see what move shows up
The space of the chessboard, meant for rascals, gives no space to kings
