تلفتت ظبية الوادى فقلت لها
لا اللحظ فاتك من ليلى و لا الجيد
ليلى مناد دعا ليلى فخف له
نشوان فى جنبات الصدر عربيد
ليلى انظروا البيد هل مادت باهلها
و هل ترنم فى المزمار داوود
ليلى نداء بليلى رن فى اذنى
سحر لعمرى له فى السمع ترديد
ليلى تردد فى سمعى و فى خلدى
كما تردد فى الايك الاغاريد
هل المنادون اهلوها و اخوتها
ام المنادون عشاق معاميد
ان يشركونى فى ليلى فلا رجعت
جبال نجد لهم صوتا و لا البيد
اغير ليلاى نادوا ام بها هتفوا
فداء ليلى الليالى الخرد الغيد
اذا سمعت اسم ليلى ثبت من خبلى
و ثاب ما صرعت منى العناقيد
كسا النداء اسمها حسنا و حببه
حتى كان اسمها البشرى او العيد
ليلى لعلى مجنون يخيل لى
لا الحى نادوا على ليلى و لا نودوا
