Summer Experience

All alone in the end of summer, caught in the rain, seeking shelter
Drenched, my heart laid bare, unable to weigh my words

Raindrops tracing my hair, at that very moment
Without a word from either of us, we broke the awkward silence

Out of the blue, we crossed a boundary
In that brief instant, we pretended to understand everything about each other
And then, we simply intertwined, lost in each other

Emotions surged through me, like a gathering storm
But a nagging unease clung to me, like a damp chill

The sweet tingling on my tongue, a reminder of our kiss
My wavering gaze betrayed my confusion, tell me what you see

A summer fling, a deafening thunderclap
In that fleeting flash, a profound emptiness washed over me
And once again, we lost sight of each other

Caught in the sudden, inevitable downpour, I succumbed to despair
For if we were destined to vanish without a trace
Why did our paths ever cross?
