Parada en esta tarima
al pie del arma tramada
quiero hacer un breve recuento
de mi vida antepasada
del presente, del ayer
y de lo que no esperaba
hoy lo veo y no lo creo
ver mi vida transformada
y pensar que en un futuro
cada día más alejada
de aquellas cosas bonitas
que tiene mi tierra llana
yo nací en la costa del pauto
en un ranchito de palma
la vereda cardoncito
qué bonito recordarla
como estaba pequeñita
mi padre a mí me ensillaba
un burro pardo mojino
pa'salir a la sabana
me amarraba de la silla
pero bien asegurada
porque el burro era espantoso
y era larga la jornada
llegábamos ya de noche
saliendo de madrugada
porque había que marranear
de tarde se serenarida

En un alero del rancho
más tarde se organizaba
prender bosta y sacar humo
pa'correr la zancudada
cuando se venía el chubasco
pa'que no relampagueara
un ramito de laurel
mi madre lo chamuscaba
cortaba el domingo de ramos
y también se acostumbraba
siete palitos cortados
el viernes en la mañana
tres cruces le hacían al tiempo
para que no chubasqueara
y se tiraban al patio
hasta que todo pasara
por cuestiones de la vida
que hoy no quiero recordarlas
aquella casita humilde
allá quedo abandonada
y en esta tierra bravía
por una familia fundaba
bosta el caño gavilán
en las tierras del vichada
qué bonito recordar
aquella época pasada
yo fui llanera completa
recia, palante y sobrada

Como ya era grandecita
con mi abuela me dejaban
porque ella vivía solita
para que la acompañara
para mi fue algo tan cruel
cuando vi donde yo estaba
metida en un rancho solo
en el medio de una montaña
donde hay guajibos mañosos,
de guayuco y de verada
ahí dure un año completo
allá en el alto vichada
mi abuela firmo un contrato
para que yo cocinara
a cien hombres trabajando
les lavara y les planchara
cuando llegaba la noche
mis lagrimas derramaba
quería el calor de mis padres
y de ellos no sabía nada
tan solo miraba el sol,
estrellas y luna clara
y un perrito manos blancas
era el que me acompañaba
mi ropa solo un guayuco
y una blusita rosada
así viví todo el tiempo
puedo decir como esclava

Pero a el año completico
era una tarde solida
yo sentí que en el tranquero
alguien que me saludaba
y en los brazos de mi padre
yo me caí desmayada
mi padre también lloro
en forma desconsolada
de mirar tanta injusticia
la vida que yo pasaba
metida en aquel infierno
solita y abandonada
y en ancas de su caballo
me llevo que regresara
al seno de un lindo hogar
ese que tanto anhelaba
ahora soy profesional
con mi folclor consagrada
doy la vida por llano
por mis padres toda mi alma
yo represento a mi tierra
a donde quiera que valla
y le agradezco a la vida
las cosas buenas y malas
por eso voy a luchar
tengo una meta trazada
de llegar a ser mas grande
de lo que yo imaginaba
