さっきとても素敵なものを
拾って僕は喜んでいた
ふと気が付いて横に目をやると

誰かがいるのに気付いた
その人はさっき僕が拾った
素敵なものを今の僕以上に
必要としている人だと
言う事が分かった
惜しいような気もしたけど
僕はそれをあげる事にした
きっとまたこの先探していれば
もっと素敵なものが見つかるだろう
その人は何度もありがとうと
嬉しそうに僕に笑ってくれた

その後にもまた僕は
とても 素敵なものを拾った
ふと気が付いて横に目をやると
また誰かがいるのに気付いた
その人もさっき僕が拾った
素敵なものを今の僕以上に
必要としている人だと
言う事が分かった
惜しいような気もしたけど
またそれをあげる事にした
きっとまたこの先探していれば
もっと素敵なものが見つかるだろう
なによりも僕を見て嬉しそうに
笑う顔が見れて嬉しかった
結局僕はそんな事を何度も繰り返し
最後には何も見つけられないまま
ここまで来た道を振り返ってみたら
僕のあげたものでたくさんの
人が幸せそうに笑っていて
それを見た時の気持ちが僕の
探していたものだとわかった
今までで一番素敵なものを
僕はとうとう拾う事が出来た

The Thing I Wanted Most

Earlier, I was overjoyed
when I found a wonderful item
When I glanced sideways,

I realized that someone was standing next to me
The person I noticed had an even greater need
for the wonderful item that I had just discovered.
So, I learned to say,
“I understand.”
Even though it was a little disappointing,
I decided to give it to them.
I'm sure that if I keep searching,
I'll eventually discover something even more amazing.
They repeatedly exclaimed, “Thank you,”
and they beamed with delight as they spoke to me.

Not long after, I came across
another exceptional find.
When I glanced sideways,
I realized that someone was standing next to me once more.
That individual also had a greater need
for the wonderful item that I had just discovered.
So, I learned to say,
“I understand.”
Even though it was a little disappointing,
I decided to give it to them once more.
I'm sure that if I keep searching,
I'll eventually discover something even more amazing.
Most importantly, it made me happy
to see the delight on their face as they looked at me.
Ultimately, I repeated this process numerous times,
and eventually, I reached this point with nothing in my hands.
As I reflect on the path that I have taken,
I see that my gifts have brought happiness
to the faces of many people,
and observing this has filled the emptiness in my heart.
My search has come to an end.
I have finally acquired the most extraordinary treasure.
The thing I wanted most.
