Bauer Grün ist ein Geselle und zwar jung und ziemlich helle,
Sein Bauernhof nicht groß, nicht klein.
Jedes Jahr zum Weihnachtstag lädt er alle Tiere ein,
Jeder so, wie er′s halt mag.
Doch jedes Jahr, das ist Gesetz, müssen seine Gäste baden,
Wer schmutzig untern Baum sich setzt, wird eiskalt wieder ausgeladen.

Dass alle Wünsche in Erfüllung gehen, ja das hoffen wir, das wäre schön.

Am Weihnachtstag Punkt früh um neune kommt der Bauer in die Scheune,
Er deutet auf die alte Wanne.
Schüttet kaltes Wasser rein, zeigt dann streng aufs Hühnchen Hanne,
Du musst heute sauber sein.
Auch dem Schweinchen Rotarose zeigt er an, gebadet wird,
Es jammert bibbernd ohne Hose, ich such mir einen andern Wirt.
