Une balade en bateau

On était partis faire une ballade en bateau
Elle m'a dit tu devrais emporter un chapeau de paille

C'était le trois juillet vers onze heures du matin
L'horizon ressemblait à un dessin de carte postale

John parlait des poissons je regardais au loin sur l'océan
Et le bruit du moteur l'obligeait à crier de temps en temps
Elle était juste auprès de moi décoiffée par le vent

On a trouvé une crique à l'heure du déjeuner
En quittant le bateau elle s'est accrochée à mon bras

J'ai pêché des oursins, la mer m'a fait du bien
John m'a dit en riant: J'ai grillé du requin pour toi

J'ai bu du vin rosé, on entendait crier les goélands
Plus tard on s'est baignés à l'heure où le soleil était brûlant
Elle était juste auprès de moi mouillée par l'océan

On est restés longtemps allongés sur le sable
A regarder le ciel à écouter danser les vagues

En ramassant son sac elle m'a dit sois gentil
Allume une cigarette et restons un peu sur la plage

John et Marie disaient qu'ils avaient pris un coup de soleil dans le dos
Elle m'a tendu les mains pour l'aider à monter sur le bateau
Elle était là tout contre moi sa peau contre ma peau

A Boat Trip

We had left to take a boat trip
She told me you should take a straw hat

It was the third of July at about eleven in the morning

John was talking about the fish I was looking out over the ocean

We found a cove at lunchtime

I fished for sea urchins, the sea did me good

I drank rosé wine, you could hear the seagulls crying
Later we swam at the hour when the sun was burning
