I was born deaf and mute from my mapudugun (ancestral knowledge)
But a poem opened my mind

There's more concrete but foye, paico, llantén, and rue still grow
The txiwke (hawk), willke (pigeon), and chincol (bird) greet me
As children, we lacked a napor (wild mushroom) soup

Chilean education denied us
The history of Kilapang, Kallfukura, it unleashed extermination
And erased us, like Galvarino, I come
They cut off our hands, but colihue (bamboo) provided me with new ones
Like a madman, for speaking Mapuche in the middle of the city
They have stolen everything from us except for the feyentun
Our identity, and through oral tradition
We know they named our entire land Chile

We are here following this ancestral call
Sowing resistance to harvest freedom
