at kindergarten, my dear.

Then cruising around on my moped,

how time flies!

And now I'm standing in front of the mirror, quarter to eight
The party's gonna be awesome, it's my birthday
All those who care about me remembered me

A grey hair
Another year has passed
Happy birthday, thanks, of course
Still a reason to celebrate
I see a grey hair

I still see myself searching
For my place in the world
Occasionally I ordered one too many drinks

I saw many come
I saw many go
Saw many fall, I mostly stayed standing

Many thousand moments bundled into time
I wish for more of them, even more
I've understood better what makes me happy,
what I really don't have to worry about, well, what?

Still a reason to celebrate
Especially with grey hair

We celebrate every new wrinkle that was necessary
Every hair that fell out too early
We celebrate every good resolution, a lovely custom
And every good beginning, whether bald head or belly

Even on the most beautiful body gnaws
the wisdom tooth of time
-Truly- youth is fleeting, age grows
And celebrating that is the most beautiful pastime!
