Der Erwartung und Vorfreude, und weit und breit

Registrierkassen klingen von fern und von nah
Und die Luft ist von Pfefferkuchenduft erfüllt
Und kein Lautsprecher, aus dem's nicht "Stille Nacht" brüllt

Wo das Schenken uns Menschen befällt wie die Pest
Wo man sich mit Parfum und Krawatten beglückt
Und sich Liebe in Haushaltsgeräten ausdrückt
Wo die Sektkorken knallen, wo man reinhaut und schlemmt
Und die Umwelt mit Weihnachtskarten überschwemmt
Frohe Weihnacht, Ihr Leute! So wie in jedem Jahr
Gibt's auch diesmal die Chance, auf dem Weihnachtsbasar
Allen Unrat zu stiften aus Schränken und Truh'n
Und was man sonst nicht wagt, auf den Sperrmüll zu tun

Daß das Wachs auf Tischtücher und Teppiche tropft
Wo man friedlich zu Hause sitzt und Nüsse knackt
Und in Wald und in Flur Weihnachtsbäume umhackt
Frohe Weihnacht, Ihr Leute, und erfreut Euch daran
Daß man jetzt nicht so sehr auffällt als Weihnachtsmann
Daß in jeder Amtsstube eine Kerze brennt
Wie ein Menschlichkeitsschimmer am Amtsfirmament
Freut Euch über Lametta, Tand und Lichterglanz
Und darüber, jetzt Mensch zu sein und keine Gans!
