Mi domanda timida:

Le rispondo: "È mezzogiorno, sia, midi."
Lei sorride e si confonde sussurandomi così:

"Merci beaucoup, thank you, grazie tanto!"

Lei s'allontana e le fò: "O, pardon!
Se crede le posso far da Ciceron!"

Mi rispose ancora
E non so più
Quel che accadde allora
Però a Villa Borghese,
La sera, a tu per tu,
Fui io che disse a lei:
"Merci beaucoup!"

Io con il mio Francese
E lei storpiando gli Italian
Stemmo sempre insieme
