Lichter in der Dunkelheit

Morgen wirst du wieder lachen und in deinem Bettchen stehn, wirst dir eine Höhle bauen und mit dem Teddy baden gehn. Wirst vom Tisch die Decke reißen mit der Blumenvase drauf, Spielzeug an den Kopf mir werfen, all das nehm ich gern in Kauf.
Aber jetzt schlaf ein. Aber jetzt schlaf ein.
Wirst an meinen Haaren ziehn und dich mit Kakao beschmiern und mit Mamas Lippenstiften die Tapeten bunt verziern. Wirst auf meinem Schreibtisch sitzen, schließlich bist du hier zuhaus, wirst lächelnd einen Brief zerreißen, all das macht mir kaum was aus.
Aber jetzt schlaf ein. Aber jetzt...
Wirst uns noch ein Stück begleiten und mit uns durchs Leben gehn, später alles anders machen, uns mit andern Augen sehn. Wirst bemerken, wie die Tage schneller laufen jedes Jahr und an manchem Ziel erfahren, dass der Weg das beste war.
Wirst vielleicht die Antwort finden bis zum Ende deiner Zeit. Alle, die dich liebten, waren Lichter in der Dunkelheit.

Lights in the Darkness

Tomorrow you will laugh again and stand in your little bed, you will build a cave and go swimming with your teddy bear. You will pull the blanket off the table with the flower vase on it, throw toys at my head, I will gladly accept all that.

You will pull my hair and smear yourself with cocoa and decorate the wallpaper with Mom's lipsticks. You will sit on my desk, after all, you are at home here, you will smile and tear up a letter, that doesn't bother me at all.

You will accompany us a little longer and go through life with us, later you will do everything differently, see us with different eyes. You will notice how the days go by faster every year and experience at some destination that the journey was the best part.
