Sri Hanuman Chalisa
Couplet
I adorn the lotus feet of Shri Guru with the pollen of my mind,
Oh Hanuman, who bestows boons and removes afflictions, destroyer of the enemy Rahu, and of immaculate fame.
I, a lowly and foolish being, remember you, son of the wind,
Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove my sorrows and afflictions.
Quatrain
Victory to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue,
Victory to the monkey lord, illuminator of the three worlds.
Messenger of Ram, of unparalleled strength and power,
Known as Anjani's son and the son of the wind.
Mighty hero, valiant and strong as a thunderbolt,
Companion of good sense, destroyer of evil thoughts.
Your complexion is golden, your attire is magnificent,
With earrings and curly hair.
You carry a mace and a victory banner in your hands,
And a sacred thread adorns your shoulder.
Offspring of Shiva and son of Kesari,
Your brilliance and splendor are revered by the whole world.
Wise, virtuous, and extremely intelligent,
Always eager to serve Lord Ram.
You delight in listening to the tales of the Lord,
And Ram, Lakshman, and Sita reside in your heart.
You appeared before Sita in a miniature form,
And burned Lanka assuming a gigantic form.
You slayed demons in your fearsome form,
And fulfilled the tasks of Lord Ramachandra.
You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshman,
And brought immense joy to Shri Raghuvir.
Raghupati greatly praised you,
Saying, "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharat."
Thousands of mouths sing your glories,
Hearing this, Shri Ram embraced you with love.
Sanakadika, Brahma, and other sages,
Narada, Saraswati, and even the Sheshnag,
Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of the directions,
None can fully describe your knowledge and wisdom.
You rendered a great service to Sugriva,
By uniting him with Ram and granting him kingship.
Vibhishana accepted your advice,
And became the king of Lanka, as the whole world knows.
The sun, which is thousands of miles away,
You swallowed it, thinking it to be a sweet fruit.
You carried the Lord's ring in your mouth,
And leaped across the ocean, which is no surprise.
You accomplish difficult tasks in this world,
With ease, thanks to your blessings.
You are the guardian at Ram's door,
No one can enter without your permission.
All comforts are attained by your grace,
With you as my protector, I have no fear.
You can control your own immense power,
The three worlds tremble at your roar.
Ghosts and evil spirits dare not come near,
When the name of Mahavir is uttered.
Diseases vanish and all pain is relieved,
By constantly chanting the name of the valiant Hanuman.
Hanuman frees from all troubles,
Whoever remembers him with mind, deed, and word.
Those who are devoted to Ram with all their being,
You fulfill all their desires.
And whoever expresses any other wish,
They too attain the ultimate fruit of life.
Your glory extends through all four ages,
And illuminates the world with its fame.
You are the protector of saints and sages,
Destroyer of demons and beloved of Ram.
You are the giver of eight Siddhis and nine Nidhis,
Mother Janaki granted you these boons.
The elixir of Ram's name is with you,
May you always remain the servant of Raghupati.
Through your devotion, one attains Ram,
And forgets the sorrows of countless lifetimes.
At the end of life, one reaches the abode of Raghuvir,
And is known as a devotee of Hari in every birth.
One should not contemplate any other deity,
All happiness is attained through Hanuman alone.
Troubles vanish and all pain is eradicated,
By remembering the mighty Hanuman.
Victory, victory, victory to Hanuman, the Lord,
Please shower your grace upon me, as my divine Guru.
Whoever recites this Chalisa a hundred times,
Will be freed from bondage and attain great happiness.
Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa,
Will attain success, as witnessed by Lord Shiva.
Tulsidas, forever a servant of Hari,
Oh Lord, please reside in my heart.

Son of the wind, remover of difficulties,
Oh auspicious one, of radiant form,
Along with Ram, Lakshman, and Sita,
Please reside in my heart, oh valiant king.
