Αν είσαι επίσημος φορέας των επόμενων αγώνων,
μένει καβάτζα μέχρι και των τρισεγγόνων.
Φτάνει να 'σαι εργολάβος του μετρό και κάποιων έργων,
για να πιεις το αίμα, άμα θες, και των ανέργων.
Αν είσαι της νύχτας και 'χεις αυθαίρετη πίστα,
θα περιμένεις λίγο να σε τσεκάρουνε στη λίστα.

If you've got the face they say you do, they'll hold a seat for you,

and you can drink the blood of the unemployed, if you so desire.
If you're in the nightlife business with an illegal dance floor,
you'll have to wait a bit while they check you out on the list.
If they've got you filed away in a drawer, with a tarnished record,
you'll probably have to eat your food cold.
If you're a party hack high up in the hierarchy,
try to keep quiet while you're taking each bite.
If you're a penman for the pro-government press,
you'll find your food beside the dog's bowl, no less.
If you're a powerful ally from the West,
they'll stand at attention, you can even strip them if you like best.
