Эта история началась очень давно
Испокон веков нашему народу приписывали всевозможные злодеяния
Жестоко преследовали, но однажды
Святейший среди наших раввинов постиг самые темные глубины каббалы
И сумел вдохнуть жизнь в богоподобное существо
Прага шестнадцатый век

С болью смотрел Лёв на муки народа
Магический был совершён ритуал
На берегу Влтавы, у брода
Из глины раввин великана создал
И вложил он в уста его шем
Тот, что мог оживлять не живое, беги!
Тот дико силён был, но нем
И оставили земли в покое враги
Оберегал он тринадцать их лет
Пощады не знал глиняный истукан
Предотвратил он кровавый навет
Обратился с молитвой раввин к небесам
От гонений ты и угнетений спаси
Веру в завтрашний день притеснённым верни
Не покарай, защити, рано нам в небеси
Через тридцать три года его воскреси

Отныне там народ спокоен
На страже их покоя Голем

И тогда раввин оказался в тисках
Успел вытащить шем изо рта, и не чувствуя боли
На веки застыл Голем, дарящий страх
На чердак затащили тогда истукана
И лестницу срубили, что туда вела
Больше не оживляли того великана
Но он стал легендой на все времена

This story started a long time ago
From time immemorial, our people have been accused of all sorts of crimes
They were brutally persecuted, but one day
The holiest of our rabbis comprehended the darkest depths of kabbalah
And managed to breathe life into a godlike being
Prague, sixteenth century

With pain, Löw watched the torment of the people
A magical ritual was performed
On the banks of the Vltava, at the ford
The rabbi created a giant out of clay
And he put the shem in his mouth
He who could revive the inanimate, run!
He was wildly strong, but mute
And the enemies left their lands alone
He protected them for thirty-three years
The clay statue knew no mercy
He prevented a blood libel
The rabbi turned to heaven with a prayer
Save us from persecution and oppression
Restore faith in tomorrow to the oppressed
Do not punish, protect, it is too early for us to go to heaven
Resurrect him in thirty-three years

From now on, the people there are at peace
