I've spent long thought selecting words
Which scattered like sparks above a bonfire
Why does the ocean's depth so beckon me?
Which silently speaks volumes without uttering a sound
Why in the blue of mighty waters
Do I glimpse the flow of time present and future?
And who holds the world, Titans or whales?
I do not know, but my doubts are gone

That ocean embracing the earth
Is the sole deity of earthly gods
So the captain who steadfastly holds his course
Will ultimately reach the heavenly shores

I have gazed into the lines upon the sea bed
I have yielded to the stormy seas
I sang to it of my happy days
And wept bitterly of moments of sorrow
And the sea listened more attentively than people
Wishing only for following winds
And although I do not believe in fearsome demons, nor heavenly fairies
My doubts have vanished
