Mia cara Consorte
Rispondo alla tua cara lettera da me tanto gradita
Mi trovo molto contento ne legere la tua letera da mè tanto gradita
Dove sento che state tutti bene.
Io sarei in perfetta salute di tornare a chasa.

No vedo lora e il momento di tornare a chasa
Per abraciarvi tutti e baciarvi di chuore.
È già diverso tempo che io mi trovo in questo manicomio ricoverato,
Distaccato da voialtri
Dunqe prochurate quanto prima divenirmi a pigliare e portarmi i panni.
Non potete immaginare quanto brami di tornare a Cecina,
Che qui mi par d′ essere in esilio.
La pazienza non mi manca, ma da un giorno, all'atro mi scapperebbe;
Se non mi, facessero partire.
Stò contento, allegro, solo desidero di stare insieme, in famiglia.
Cara consorte mi raccomando a te e al mio caro fratello Robuamo
Dunque non mi abbandonate sul fiore di mia vita.
Che io non vi o mai abbandonato scuserete
Se qualche volta vi offeso con parole
Ma il cuore è sempre amoroso con voialtri tutti

My Dearest Wife,
I am writing in response to your kind letter, which I so appreciate.
I am very grateful to read your letter, which I find so pleasing.
I am relieved to hear that you are all well.
I would be in perfect health if I could come home.

I cannot wait to come home,
To embrace you all with heart-filled love.
I have been in this asylum for quite some time now,
Away from all of you.
Therefore, make every effort to come and collect me as soon as possible, and bring me some clothes.
You cannot imagine how much I yearn to return to Cecina,
For here I feel as though I am in exile.
My patience is holding out, but one day I may run away
If they do not let me go.
I am content and cheerful, and only desire to be with my family.
My dear wife, I entrust myself to you, and to my dear brother Robuamo.
Do not abandon me now, in the prime of my life.
I have never abandoned you, and I beg your forgiveness,
If I have ever offended you with words.
But my heart is always filled with love for you all.
