The ancient song fills the air
On the mound sacred fire burns
People dance the magic dance of rebirth
For the sun's sooner return

Here is the longest night of the year
When the evil spirits of darkness is awake
Old witch woman dances across the room
She drives whole evil spirits back in the bloom

Over the frozen field the northwind walls
Falling snow turns into the raging snowstorm.

Солнце скрылось,
ледяной северный ветер теперь правит землёй.
Из царства льда и вечной тьмы
Матушка-зима снежные облака шлёт.

Белый воевода скачет по небу,
сотня коней везёт его ледяные сани.
Рёв следует за ним,
это знак, что зимнее солнцестояние наступило.

Древняя песня наполняет воздух,
на кургане горит священный огонь.
Люди танцуют магический танец возрождения
ради скорейшего возвращения солнца.

Вот и самая длинная ночь в году,
когда злые духи тьмы пробуждаются.
Старая колдунья танцует по комнате,
она прогоняет всех злых духов обратно во тьму.

Над замерзшим полем воет северный ветер,
падающий снег превращается в бушующую метель.
