Within the home of the heart, where celestial music resounds, let us contemplate and find solace.
Tit ghar gaavhu sohilaa sivrihu sirjanhaaro. ||1||
In that dwelling, I sing Sohila, praising the Architect of all. ||1||
Tum gaavhu mayray nirbha-o kaa sohilaa.
I sing the praises of my Fearless Lord.
Ha-o vaaree jit sohilai sadaa sukh ho-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By singing His praises, may eternal joy be obtained. ||1||Pause||
Nit nit jee-arhay samaalee-an daykhaigaa dayvanhaar.
Each day, as I wake, I witness the Divine Sustainer.
Tayray daanai keemat naa pavai tis daatay kavan sumaar. ||2||
The value of Your gifts cannot be measured; who can count the blessings You bestow? ||2||
Sambat saahaa likhi-aa mil kar paavhu tayl.
Through good fortune, our destinies have aligned, and we have met.
Dayh sajan aseesrhee-aa ji-o hovai saahib si-o mayl. ||3||
Grant me the blessing, O Beloved, to be united with You forever. ||3||
Ghar ghar ayho paahuchaa sad-rhay nit pavann.
May this message reach every home, carried by the ever-present wind.
Sadanhaaraa simree-ai naanak say dih aavann. ||4||1||

Chhi-a ghar chhi-a gur chhi-a updays.
Finite are homes, finite are teachers, finite are teachings.
Gur gur ayko vays anayk. ||1||
The Guru, the Guru is One, though His forms are many. ||1||
Baabaa jai ghar kartay keerat ho-ay.
O father, where celestial music is performed, that home is blessed.
So ghar raakh vadaa-ee to-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
That home is eternally exalted and protected. ||1||Pause||
Visu-ay chasi-aa gharhee-aa pahraa thitee vaaree maahu ho-aa.
The sun and moon are like lamps, the stars like jewels, the wind fans the flames, and the fragrance of the earth is like incense.
Sooraj ayko rut anayk.
There is but one sun, yet there are countless seasons.
Naanak kartay kay kaytay vays. ||2||2||
Nanak says, the Creator's works are diverse and wondrous. ||2||2||

Gagan mai thaal rav chand deepak banay taarikaa mandal janak motee.
The sky is Your salver, the sun and moon Your lamps; the stars are the pearls, and the constellations Your jewels.
Dhoop mal-aanlo pavan chavro karay sagal banraa-ay foolant jotee. ||1||
The fragrance of sandalwood is Your incense, the wind Your fan; all the forests are Your floral offerings, O Luminous Lord. ||1||
Kaisee aartee ho-ay. bhav khandnaa tayree aartee.
How can I perform Your Aartee, O Destroyer of Fear?
Anhataa sabad vaajant bhayree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The unstruck sound current of the Shabad resounds like a drum. ||1||Pause||
Sahas tav nain nan nain heh tohi ka-o sahas moorat nanaa ayk tohee.
You have thousands of eyes, yet no eyes; You have thousands of forms, yet no form.
Sahas pad bimal nan ayk pad ganDh bin sahas tav ganDh iv chalat mohee. ||2||
You have thousands of unblemished feet, yet no feet; Your fragrance is carried by the wind, captivating my mind. ||2||
Sabh meh jot jot hai so-ay.
Within all is the Light; the Light is You.
Tis dai chaanan sabh meh chaanan ho-ay.
By Your illumination, all is illuminated.
Gur saakhee jot pargat ho-ay.
Through the Guru's Teachings, the Light becomes manifest.
Jo tis bhaavai so aartee ho-ay. ||3||
Whoever pleases You, their worship is accepted. ||3||
Har charan kaval makrand lobhit mano andino mohi aahee pi-aasaa.
My mind is like the bumble bee, forever longing for the honey of Your Lotus Feet.
Kirpaa jal deh naanak saaring ka-o ho-ay jaa tay tayrai naa-ay vaasaa. ||4||3||
Grant me the water of Your Grace, Nanak begs, that I may dwell in Your Name. ||4||3||

Kaam karoDh nagar baho bhari-aa mil saaDhoo khandal khanda hay.
The city of lust and anger is heavily fortified; meeting with the Saints, it is shattered.
Poorab likhat likhay gur paa-i-aa man har liv mandal mandaa hay. ||1||
Preordained destiny is erased upon meeting the Guru; the mind, attached to worldly pleasures, is subdued. ||1||
Kar saaDhoo anjulee pun vadaa hay.
Joining hands in humility before the Saints is true greatness.
Kar dand-ut pun vadaa hay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Carrying the staff of spiritual discipline is true greatness. ||1||Pause||
Saakat har ras saad na jaani-aa tin antar ha-umai kandaa hay.
The faithless do not understand the essence of spiritual bliss; their hearts are filled with the thorns of ego.
Ji-o ji-o chaleh chubhai dukh paavahi jamkaal saheh sir dandaa hay. ||2||
Life after life they wander, pricked by pain and suffering; at the time of death, they bear the heavy burden of their actions. ||2||
Har jan har har naam samaanay dukh janam maran bhav khanda hay.
The Lord's humble servants meditate on the Name of the Lord, breaking the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
Abhinaasee purakh paa-i-aa parmaysar baho sobh khand barahmandaa hay. ||3||
Having attained the Imperishable Lord, the Supreme Being, they are eternally blessed and showered with His Grace. ||3||
Ham gareeb maskeen parabh tayray har raakh raakh vad vadaa hay.
We are poor and destitute, O Lord; You are our only Protector and Support.
Jan naanak naam aDhaar tayk hai har naamay hee sukh mandaa hay. ||4||4||
Servant Nanak has taken the Name as his Support; in the Name of the Lord lies true peace and fulfillment. ||4||4||

I offer my prayer, listen, my Sweet Saint, please release me from the cycle of birth and death.
Eehaa khaat chalhu har laahaa aagai basan suhaylaa. ||1||
In this world, let me earn the profit of the Lord's Name, so that in the next, I may dwell in His Court. ||1||
A-oDh ghatai dinas rainaaray. man gur mil kaaj savaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Day and night, my desires decrease; meeting the Guru, my tasks are accomplished. ||1||Pause||
Ih sansaar bikaar sansay meh tari-o barahm gi-aanee.
This world is caught in the net of illusion; only the spiritually wise, imbued with divine knowledge, can escape.
Jisahi jagaa-ay pee-aavai ih ras akath kathaa tin jaanee. ||2||
Whomever You awaken and inspire to drink the Nectar of Your Name, they alone understand this indescribable story. ||2||
Jaa ka-o aa-ay so-ee bihaajhahu har gur tay maneh basayraa.
Whoever comes to You, You guide and bless; through the Guru, they find their true home within their hearts.
Nij ghar mahal paavhu sukh sehjay bahur na ho-igo fayraa. ||3||
They attain their own celestial mansion, filled with peace and tranquility, and are never again cast into the cycle of reincarnation. ||3||
Antarjaamee purakh biDhaatay sarDhaa man kee pooray.
The Inner-knower, the Architect of Destiny, fulfills the desires of the mind.
Naanak daas ihai sukh maagai mo ka-o kar santan kee Dhooray. ||4||5||
Nanak, Your servant, asks for this blessing: may I be a sacrifice to the Saints, the dust of their feet. ||4||5||
