Da sieht man doch im Dunkeln
Katzenaugen funkeln
Sie lauert schon zum Sprung bereit
Doch Sancho knurrt zur rechten Zeit

Am Morgen kommt der Bauer raus
Und Sancho schnarcht in seinem Haus
Und was der Bauer nicht versteht
Dass der Hahn heut gar nicht kräht?
Dass selbst die Kuh und auch das Schwein
Heut nicht nach dem Futter schreien?
Und der Bauer schaut ganz dumm

Next door to Sancho the farm dog
Lives Karl-Heinz, the mouse man
He likes living there especially

The rooster crows the soprano today

In the morning the farmer comes out
