My friend, I write you this letter
My people cry out enough, my situation is dire
I tell you, I count the victims by the thousands
The only rain here is the rain of missiles
And tell them that we've had enough, my whole family dead and they were just innocent civilians
Tell your president, I don't sleep a single night in case a relative dies
I have nothing, not even to eat or dine
I've never killed a fly and they say I'm the Axis of Evil
In your country, a chewing gum is worth three times more than a life here in Iraq
I dream of a life far away
I dream of being able to leave here
I dream of being able to see your reflection but there's no future being a poor Iraqi child
I'm going to see my parents' grave in secret
I couldn't say goodbye or tell them I loved them
Dodging corpses, and it gets harder every time
Thinking about tomorrow and knowing there's no future
Oh God, Allah, I want to escape
I don't know what's worse, the blood, the hunger or the fear of dying
There's no freedom, only when I die from a bullet will I achieve peace
And I run and sweat and think and doubt that the blood of innocents is worth more than all the crude oil
And in the end there's no morality or ethics, at least not in the mind of the head of North America
