Giữa lòng trời khuya muôn ánh sao hiền,
Người trai đi viết câu chuyện một chuyến bay đêm.
Cánh bằng nhẹ mơn trên làn gió.
Đời ngây thơ xưa lại nhớ lúc mình còn thơ.
Nhìn trời cao mà reo, mà mơ ước như diều
Để níu áo hằng nga, ngồi bên dẫy ngân hà.

Giờ sống giửa lưng trời,
Đôi khi nhớ chuyện đời mỉm cười thôi
Đêm nay chuyến bay trời xanh như màu
áo Đường Minh Đế nhàn du khắp tinh cầu,
Chạnh thương hai đứa giờ gối súng nơi nào
Lâu lắm chẳng gặp nhau.

Bạn bè dù cách xa nào hay,
Tình nàng chưa nói nhưng mà say.
Giai nhân hỡi khóe mắt em u hoài
Theo tìm trong chuyến bay.
Có người hỏi phi công ước mơ gì,
Người ơi nhân thế muôn màu nào biết mơ chi.

Ước rằng từ khi tung nhịp cánh,
Tình ta yêu thương là gió nhân tình của mây.
Ở đời ai hiểu ai, người bay trắng đêm dài,
Người sống giửa đại dương,người yên giấc ven rừng.
Bạn có biết chuyện này tôi ghi lúc vũ trụ còn ngủ say.
Ước như diều để níu áo hằng nga, ngồi bên dẫy ngân hà.

A Night Flight

Amidst the night sky with myriad gentle stars,
This man pens a tale of a flight by night.
Feathered wings gently caress the breeze.
A heart once innocent recalls a time of childish dreams.
I looked up to the sky, laughing and yearning like a kite
To clutch Chang'e's robe, seated in the Milky Way.

Now living amidst the sky,
Sometimes I recollect life's stories and can't help but smile.
Tonight's flight, the azure sky like the hue
Of Emperor Đường Ming's robe, leisurely traversing the celestial sphere,
A pang of sympathy for those two, now pillowing on rifles somewhere
For it's been ages since we've met.

Dear friend, no matter the distance that separates us,
Your love, though unspoken, intoxicates me.
My beauty, your eyes, forever melancholy,
I seek you in every flight.
Someone asked this pilot, what is your dream?
Oh, dear one, in this world of a thousand hues, how can one know?

My wish is that from the moment I spread my wings,
Our love becomes the wind, our humanity the clouds.
In life, who truly understands another? One flies through the endless night,
Another lives upon the vast ocean, and another sleeps soundly by the forest's edge.
Do you know, my friend, that I penned this tale while the universe slumbered?
My wish is to be like a kite, to clutch Chang'e's robe, seated in the Milky Way.
