I've done my share o' humpin' wi' the dockers on the Clyde
I've helpit Buckie trawlers haul their herrin's o'er the side
I've helped tae build them michty bridge that spans the busy Forth
Wi' money an Angus farmer's trig, I've ploo'ed the bonnie earth

I'm happy in the summer time beneath the bricht blue sky
No thinkin' in the mornin' whaur at nicht I'll hae tae lie
In barn or byre or anywhere, dossin' oot among the hay

Помогал строить могучий мост, что перекинут через оживленный Ферт,
С деньгами от фермера из Ангуса я пахал прекрасную землю.

Я счастлив летом под ярким голубым небом,
Не думая утром, где мне придется лежать ночью,
В сарае, коровнике или где угодно, дремля в сене,
И если погода ко мне благосклонна, я счастлив каждый день.
