When I was just a wee little lad, full of health and joy
One year, for Christmas, I received a marvellous little toy
A wonder to behold it was with many colors bright
And the moment that I set eyes on it
It became me heart's delight

Well, the years have passed so quickly, seems now I have me own little boy
And yesterday I gave to him that marvellous little toy
And his eyes nearly popped right out of his head, and he gave a squeal of glee! (Whaa!)
Neither one of us knows just what it is, but he loves it just like me!

Le Jouet Merveilleux

Quand j'étais un tout petit gars, plein de santé et de joie,
Une année, pour Noël, j'ai reçu un merveilleux petit jouet.
Une merveille à contempler, avec ses nombreuses couleurs vives,
Et dès que mes yeux se sont posés sur lui,
