Te lucis ante terminum,
Rerum Creator, poscimus,
Ut solita clementia,
Sis praesul ad custodiam.

Procul recedant somnia,
Et noctium phantasmata:
Hostemque nostrum comprime,
Ne polluantur corpora.

Praesta, Pater omnipotens,
Per Iesum Christum Dominum,
Qui tecum in perpetuum
Regnat cum Sancto Spiritu.

Before the ending of the day,
Creator of all things, we ask,
That in your accustomed clemency,
You may be our guide to protection.

May dreams depart far away,
And the phantoms of the night:
And may you suppress our enemy,
So that our bodies may not be polluted.

Grant, almighty Father,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Who reigns with you forever
With the Holy Spirit.
