Hänschen klein ging allein
In die weite Welt hinein.
Stock und Hut steht ihm gut,
Ist gar wohlgemut.
Aber Mutter weinet sehr,
Hat ja nun kein Hänschen mehr.
Da besinnt sich das Kind,
Läuft nach Haus geschwind.

"Lieb Mama, ich bin da!"
Ruft das Hänschen hopsasa.
"Ich bin hier, bleib bei dir,
Geh nicht fort von hier!"
Da freut sich die Mutter sehr
Und das Hänschen noch viel mehr;
Denn es ist, wie ihr wißt,
Gar so schön bei ihr.

Little Johnny

Little Johnny went alone
Into the wide world.
Stick and hat are good for him,
He's quite cheerful.
But mother is very sad,
She doesn't have little Johnny anymore.
Then the child thinks about it,
Run home quickly.

"My dear Mama, I'm here!"
Little Johnny shouts hopsasa.
"I'm here, stay with you,
