Tomás Luis de Victoria - Eram quasi agnus - traduction des paroles en anglais

Paroles et traduction Tomás Luis de Victoria - Eram quasi agnus

Eram quasi agnus
Like an innocent lamb
Eram quasi agnus innocens:
Like an innocent lamb:
Ductus sum ad immolandum, et nesciebam:
Led to the slaughter, and I knew not:
Consilium fecerunt inimici mei adversum me, dicentes:
My enemies plotted against me, saying:
Venite, mittamus lignum in panem eius
Come, let us put poison in his food,
Et eradamus eum de terra viventium.
And wipe him from the face of the earth.
Omnes inimici mei adversum me cogitabant mala mihi:
All my enemies thought evil against me:
Verbum iniquum mandaverunt adversum me, dicentes:
They uttered wicked words against me, saying:
Venite, mittamus lignum in panem eius
Come, let us put poison in his food,
Et eradamus eum de terra viventium.
And wipe him from the face of the earth.
(Jer. 11, 19)
