Hay dias que no sé lo que me pasa.
Eu abro meu neruda e apago o sol.
Misturo poesia com cachaça
E acabo discutindo futebol.
Mas não tem nada, não,

Acordo de manhã, pão com manteiga.
E muito, muito sangue no jornal.
Aí a criançada toda chega
E eu chego a achar herodes natural.

Depois faço a loteca com a patroa.

E rio, porque rico ri à toa.

There are days when I don't know what's wrong with me.
I open my Neruda and extinguish the sun.
I mix poetry with cachaça
And end up arguing about football.

And lots and lots of blood in the newspaper.
Then the children all arrive
And I start to think that Herod was right.

Then I do the lottery with the wife.

And I laugh, because the rich laugh for no reason.
It doesn't cost anything to dream either.

On Saturdays at home I get drunk
And dream of phenomenal solutions.
But when sleep comes and the night dies,
The day tells stories that are always the same.
