Una vez oí contar
Una historia, que había
En un cuento
Al canto alegre del hombre
Que es como el sol.
Una lluvia cayó y mi alma
Creyó en ese cuento,
Que había traído, sólo
Una ilusión.
De este sueño grande

Al principio creí:
Que una estrella brillaba
De vida
Que no hacía falta la noche
Para ver su luz.
Una historia de amor,
Ilusión y ternura.
Tan solo, el poeta sabe
Que esa noche lloró,
Porque el firmamento sabe
Que esa estrella murió.

A Tale

I once heard tell
A story, that was
In a tale
To the joyful song of man
Who is like the sun.
A rain fell and my soul
Believed in that story,
That had brought, only
An illusion.
Of this great dream
That I carry within
In the beginning I believed:
That a star was shining
Of life
That the night was not needed
To see its light.
A story of love,
Illusion and tenderness.
Only the poet knows
That that night he wept,
Because the firmament knows
That that star died.
