βρόντα το ταμπούρλο σου αρκουδιάρη,

Είχα ένα φίλο, φίλο καρδιακό,
ξενύχτι, γλέντι και σεργιάνι,
πελώριο κι αχόρταγο θεριό,
τον ρούφηξε της πόλης το ποτάμι.
Κίτρινα μάτια, στόματα φαρδιά τίποτα
δεν πήρατε χαμπάρι,
το δρόμο αφήνω, χάνομαι στα στενά
παρέα μ' ένα σκουπιδιάρη.
Φύσηξε αγέρι, φύσηξε βροχή
κι εγώ γυρίζω σαν τσακάλι,
άσχημη μάλλον διάλεξα εποχή
μες στο κενό και μες στη ζάλη.
Φουρτουνιασμένη, στείρα μου πηγή αόρατε, μαύρε καβαλάρη,
