Lingashtakam

O Lingam adored and worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, and the gods,
O Lingam beautified by the holy words spoken by Lord Shiva,
O Lingam that eradicates the sorrow of births and deaths,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam worshipped by the foremost among the gods and sages,
O Lingam that embodies compassion and burns desire,
O Lingam that destroyed the arrogance of Ravana,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam adorned with various fragrant incense,
O Lingam that enhances intellect and knowledge,
O Lingam worshipped by the perfected beings and the gods and demons,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam decorated with golden and precious gems,
O Lingam adorned with the beautiful hands of your devotees,
O Lingam that destroyed the great sacrifice of Daksha,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam smeared with saffron and sandalwood paste,
O Lingam beautified by garlands of lotus flowers,
O Lingam that destroys accumulated sins,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam worshipped and adored by the hosts of gods,
O Lingam that becomes fearful even to Lord Shiva,
O Lingam whose brilliance surpasses a million suns,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam surrounded by eight petals,
O Lingam that is the cause of the creation of all,
O Lingam that eradicates the eight miseries of life,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

O Lingam worshipped by the preceptor of the gods and the gods themselves,
O Lingam that is worshipped with celestial flowers,
O Lingam that is the supreme being beyond the supreme,
To you, O Sadaashiva Lingam, I eternally bow.

This Lingashtakam is sacred and holy,
Whoever recites it in the presence of Lord Shiva,
Will attain the great abode of Lord Shiva,
And will rejoice with Lord Shiva forever.
