Ich stand auf vielen schönen Plätzen,
Doch keiner kann ihn mir ersetzen,
Das gibt's nur einmal,
Den Wenzelplatz in Prag.

Leute gehen spazieren,
Irgend jemand trifft man immer.
"Ach, du, Ahoj, wie geht's denn dir?"
Dann bleibt man mal stehen,
Lang hat man sich nicht gesehen.

People stand in front of the cinemas.
Newspaper men are constantly calling.
A couple are making out in the entrance to the passage.
The scent of sausage stalls floats
Into the gentle evening breeze.
It has always been this way, and it will remain so year after year.
