Mais ça n'l'amusait pas...

Swinging at a festival on a Sunday
She was beautiful, and one could see
Her white legs under her black skirt...
The vendor shouted to her: "Would you like to sit down?

But the maiden on the swing
Laughed, and laughed, and went up even higher
She was beautiful, and one could believe
That she was flying away into the sky forever
But it was forbidden
She came back down
When she came down
I was all moved
I said to her: "Mademoiselle
I thought you had wings!"
We went to the shooting gallery,
To the merry-go-round, to the nougat,
To the circus, to the female torso
But it didn't amuse her...

I'd rather go back there..."
