I couldn't honestly say, "I love you", so I gazed up at the stars in the night sky
I probably won't ever give it to you, but
right now, I'm writing you a letter...

clichéd words follow
behind the tip of a trembling pen, blurred by tears, as the sun quietly rises...
On the way home, alone together, I didn't know what to talk about

In the sidelong glance I stole up at you, there's really
something I want to tell you.
In that split-second when our eyes met, I couldn't help but think of
how I lack confidence.
But there's just one thing I can say for sure:
I love you more than anyone else in the whole world...
I'm awkward and timid, but
there's just one dream I have:
People may laugh at me and call it ridiculous, but
I truly believe in this path...
I may not measure up to you,
I'm just a star that's barely visible.
But I'll shine bright enough for you to see, someday.
And when I do...
Every day, I just sigh when I look in the mirror at my own uninspiring reflection.
Again and again, I pick up the phone, but in the end
I never press the button to call.
