Είναι τα μάτια σου
ένας διάδρομος παλιός
δάκρυα πνιγμένα
ξεφλουδίζουνε τους τοίχους
που ένας ένοικος αθόρυβος κρυφός
αντί συνθήματα
ζωγράφισε με στίχους

Και μέσα υπάρχουν τα σκαλιά
που οδηγούν
σ′ ένα υπόγειο με παιχνίδια χαλασμένα
όσα οι άνθρωποι βαριούνται και ξεχνούν
μετά τη χρήση
τα φορτώνουνε σε σένα

Μου λες τα μάτια σου
να μη τα αγαπώ
και να μη πάψω
να πιστεύω στα δικά μου
μα αυτά τα μάτια όπου χαθώ
κι όπου βρεθώ
τα έχω πίσω μου
και μέσα και μπροστά μου

Μέσα στην ίριδα ανάβει μια φωτιά
που κάθε άστεγο
και άνεργο ζεσταίνει
κι η καλοσύνη τους
απλώνει σαν λαδιά
να μαλακώσει μιαν ανάγκη
πετρωμένη

Σ'αυτά τα μάτια δεν υπάρχει λογική
όσο βαθιά κι αν τα κοιτάζω
μ′αγαπούνε
της ιστορίας πυρπολούν τη φυλακή
στα παραμύθια και στ' αστέρια
να με βρούνε

Your eyes are
an old corridor
drowned tears
peel walls
where a quiet hidden resident
instead of slogans
painted with lyrics

And inside there are stairs
leading
to a basement with broken toys
that people get bored of and forget
after use
they burden you with them

You tell me your eyes
not to love them
and never stop
to believe in my own
but these eyes where I get lost
and where I'm found
I have them behind me
and inside and in front of me

Inside the iris a fire burns
which warms every homeless
and unemployed person
and their kindness
spreads like oil
to soften a need
turned to stone

In these eyes there is no logic
no matter how deeply I look into them
they love me
they set fire to the prison of history
in fairy tales and in the stars
to find me
