Όλα στραβά πηγαίναν στη ζωή μου
κι απάνω που ′χα χάσει την αντοχή μου
ανοίξανε οι ουρανοί, κι ανάμεσα στα φλάς
κοντά μου η Πυθία ήρθε τρεκλίζοντας.
Ένα τσιγάρο πρώτα έκανε τράκα
κι ύστερα ανέκραξε: "Φτωχέ μου βλάκα,
μες στα βαθιά νερά τι θες και κολυμπάς;
Oτι φάμε, ότι πιούμε, κι ότι αρπάξει ο κώλος μας."
Mα πριν προλάβω καν να την ρωτήσω
το γρίφο που έκρυβε ο χρησμός της να λύσω,
του νόμου οι φύλακες μας κύκλωσαν γιαβρούμ
στα χέρια βραχιολάκια της περνούν,
ντρούμ ντρούμ λέει, ντρούμ ντρούμ.
Kι ενώ μες στη στενή με βία την οδηγούνε
γυρνάν σ' εμένανε και μ′ εξηγούνε,
μέσα σε κούφιο δόντι είχε κρυμμένο
μιά δαχτυλίθρα μαύρο κατεργασμένο.
Στα πρωτοσέλιδα την άλλη μέρα
είδα τα μάτια της ξενυχτισμένα,
"EΠITYXIA" με μεγάλα γράμματα
θα ξέρετε θαρρώ πως πάνε αυτά τα πράγματα.
Mε τα πολλά αναγκάστηκε να ομολογήσει
αντί για δάφνη έπερνε λέει χασίσι,
κι αν ξέφευγε για αιώνες τούτη η κυρία
πάντα νικά στο τέλος η αστυνομία.

False Oracle - Live

Everything went wrong in my life,
and just when I had lost all my strength,
the heavens opened, and among the flashes,
the Oracle came staggering near me.
She first lit a cigarette with a crack,
and then exclaimed: "My poor fool,
what are you doing swimming in deep waters?
Whatever we eat, whatever we drink, and whatever our butts grab."
But before I could even ask her,
to solve the riddle her oracle concealed,
the guardians of the law surrounded us, barking,
and handcuffed us,
boom boom, she says, boom boom.
And while they were forcibly escorting her through the narrow way
they turned to me and explained,
in a hollow tooth she had hidden
a finger ring, darkly crafted.
On the front pages the next day,
I saw her sleepless eyes,
"SUCCESS" in capital letters
you know how these things go.
Finally she was forced to confess,
that instead of laurel, she was taking hashish, lady,
and though this lady may have escaped for ages,
the police always win in the end.
