I gazed at her footprints, thirsted for her water,
Walked far in the light of her star;
In my fingers, snow turned into steel.
And I stood by the river to drink in the silence;
To wash away everything and be alive again.
To find her voice, to enter her twilight,
To become a wanderer on her long journey;
In my fingers, water turned into smoke.
And when my day ended silently and strangely,
And my horses remained light for the first time,
Then the flame of her candles, the rings of her keys,
The gentle, night-like marble of her shoulders,
Silently lay in the stone of my hands.
