Но животные меня сторонились как огня.
Я потратил много сил, я им душу посвятил.
Я водил зверей в кино, покупал им эскимо.
А зря!
Я устроил карнавал, маски всем зверям раздал.
Но слон со мной не танцевал,
Верблюд мне маску не отдал.
Я соседскому коту прицепил цветы к хвосту.
Он меня не понял, видно.
До чего же мне обидно!
Я любил читать про пчел. Сто семнадцать книг прочел.
Все равно кусают больно.
Хватит! Нет! С меня довольно!
Не люблю теперь зверей.
Лучше сяду за уроки я скорей!

I've always loved animals. I loved them, I swear!
But animals avoided me like fire.
I spent a lot of effort, I dedicated my soul to them.
I took the animals to the cinema, I bought them popsicles.
But it was all for nothing!
I threw a carnival, I gave masks to all the animals.
But the elephant wouldn't dance with me,
The camel didn't give me back my mask.
I tied flowers to the tail of the neighbor's cat.
He didn't understand me, apparently.
How insulting!
I loved reading about bees. I read one hundred seventeen books about them.
They still bite painfully.
Enough! No! I've had enough!
I don't like animals anymore.
I'd better get back to homework!
