На промёрзлой чуть влажной земле отдыхает парнишка
Светлый чуб развивается бойко на сильном ветру
Первый снег тихо тает, на землю чужую ложится
И холодная, долгая ночь потеплела к утру
А в руках у парнишки клочок пожелтевшей бумаги
И искусанный чёрный такой карандаш
Видно, пишет любимой девчонке, а, может быть, маме
И холодным стволом автомат придавил патронташ
А рядом ворона голодная, кричит на погоду холодную
Не знает, куда бы ей сесть и ищет чего бы ей съесть
Улыбается он непосредственной детской улыбкою
Сколько дней и ночей предстоит пережить ещё тут
Парень пишет письмо и в словах исправляет ошибки
Ничего, дома эти слова без него разберут
А стекло на прицеле от влаги опять запотело
Снайпер, сняв рукавицу, его аккуратно протёр
И холодная пуля, подпрыгнув, вперёд полетела
И вонзилась в горячее сердце, как ветер в костёр
