Не помню, как мы в Рио приземлились

В дырявой лодке посреди реки

А он лечил индейцев от простуды

A phone call in the dead of night, it broke my slumber's child
I yearned for sleep, I was exhausted

I obeyed, for who could disobey his command?
When he calls, there's no escape
To him for truth came criminals and the grand

I don't recall how we landed in Rio
Or how we hiked into the jungle, our packs heavy and thick
But I remember the storm that raged that night
Our leaky boat tossed in the river's grip
I'd given up on life, resigned to my doom
As I drifted towards the whirlpool's gloom
With one hand, he strangled the caimans tight
With the other, he pulled me from the watery plight
I could not believe the miracle that I had seen
Shivering on the shore, my body clean
He healed the Indians, curing their ills
Saving them from extinction, fulfilling their wills
And so, we returned home, our secret safe and sound
Until the news broke out, spreading all around
The Indians had built a monument, it's true
On the banks of the Rio Cuixi, for him, their savior too
Each morning, refreshed by a drink in their hand
As the sun's rays chased away the night
They'd gather beneath his statue, so grand
And until daybreak, they'd pray with all their might
Tropical flowers painted the scene in vibrant hues
The pirarucu fish leaped, its tail striking through
Their prayers soared heavenward, a melody serene
