Видит, Леший сидит

Рядом с Лешим парень присел
Сумел!
Леший - глаз косой
Задал вопрос
Да не простой, лихой!
Зачем под луной
Ты пришел нарушить мой покой лесной?
Эх, как парень да вскочил
Вырваться не смог - Леший уволок!

Да во свой мирок - навий уголок!

Как через сотню лет возвратился да стариком

The Leshy

On a dark, dark night,
A young man went to wander in the woods.
He sees the Leshy sitting there,
Speaking mischievous words with a dare:
“Why not in broad daylight?
Come closer to me, if you’re brave and bright!”
And he walked, he approached,
Beside the Leshy, the young man encroached.
He dared!
The Leshy with his sly eye,
Asked a question,
Not simple, but wicked and sly!
“Why under the moon’s soft light,
Did you come to disturb my forest’s night?”
Oh, how the young man jumped,
He couldn’t escape, the Leshy had him slumped!
Oh, how the Leshy dragged him away,
Into his own world, where spirits hold sway!
Oh, into his own world,
A mystical corner, to work and be hurled!
Oh, you’ll return one day,
As an old, old man, many years away!”
After a hundred years, he returned as an old man,
No home, no land,
Is it time to meet death’s hand?
Oh, oh, this isn’t me!
This tale, though not true, holds wisdom, you see:
At night, from the forest, flee!
Under the moon in the woods, don’t you stray!
Beneath the old pine,
Sits the Leshy, with his sly eye, so fine!
The Leshy with his sly eye,
Guards his forest realm, reaching for the sky.
