И тоже научились брать нутром
У них гурьбой Булгакова играют
И Пушкина — опять же впятером
Шагают роты в выкладке на марше
Двум ротным — ордена за марш-бросок!
Всего на десять лет Любимов старше
Плюс "Десять дней..." — ну разве это срок?!
Гадали разное — года в гаданиях:
Мол доиграются — и грянет гром
К тому ж кирпичики на новых зданиях
Напоминают всем казенный дом
В истории искать примеры надо:
Был на Руси такой же человек —
Он щит прибил к воротам Цареграда
И звался тоже, кажется, Олег.
Семь лет назад ты въехал в двери МХАТа
Влетел на белом княжеском коне
Ты сталь сварил, теперь все ждут проката —
И изнутри, конечно, и извне
На мхатовскую мельницу налили
Расплав горячий — это удалось
Чуть было "Чайке" крылья не спалили
Но, слава богу, славой обошлось
Во многом совпадают интересы:
В "Таганке" пьют за старый Новый год
В обоих коллективах "мерседесы"
Вот только "Чаек" нам недостает
А на "Таганке" — там возня повальная:
Перед гастролями она бурлит —
Им предстоит в Париж дорога дальняя
Но "Птица синяя" не предстоит
Здесь режиссер в актере умирает
Но — вот вам парадокс и перегиб:
Абдулов Сева — Севу каждый знает —
В Ефремове чуть было не погиб
Нет, право, мы похожи, даже в споре
Живем и против правды не грешим:
Я тоже чуть не умер в режиссере
И, кстати, с удовольствием большим.
Идут во МХАТ актеры, и едва ли
Затем, что больше платят за труды
Но дай бог счастья тем, кто на бульваре
Где чище стали Чистые пруды!
Тоскуй, Олег, в минуты дорогие
По вечно и доподлинно живым!
Все понимают эту ностальгию
По бывшим современникам твоим
Волхвы пророчили концы печальные:
Мол змеи в черепе коня живут.
А мне вот кажется, дороги дальние
Глядишь, когда-нибудь и совпадут
Ученые, конечно, не наврали
Но ведь страна искусств — страна чудес
Развитье здесь идет не по спирали
А вкривь и вкось, вразрез, наперерез
Затихла брань, но временны поблажки
Светла Адмиралтейская игла
"Таганка", МХАТ идут в одной упряжке
И общая телега тяжела
Мы пара тварей с Ноева ковчега
Два полушарья мы одной коры
Не надо в академики Олега!
Бросайте дружно черные шары!
И с той поры как люди слезли с веток
Сей день — один из главных. Можно встать
И тост поднять за десять пятилеток —
За сто на два, за два по двадцать пять!

To Oleg Efremov on His 50th Birthday (Live)

We come from a breed of the beaten, yet enduring,
We remember all, our memory holds dear.
I speak as a Moscow Art Theatre scout,
Sent to "Taganka" - behind enemy lines, my dear.
Now we're in an embrace, like boxers in a clinch,
And I, once a student of the Moscow Art,
To Oleg Nikolaevich, today I bring
This intel from my recon start.
That over at "Taganka," the crowd's quite bold,
At the box office they scramble - Gomorrah, Sodom! -
Gypsies with cards, a long road unfolds,
And a state-owned house is built, quite solemn.
In all their deeds, Taganka's folk are like you,
Though, of course, a difference can be found:
The Moscow Art Theatre's plays get applause in the boxes,
While they, without false modesty, without bounds.
At fifty, Oleg is a century younger -
A second life in exchange for seven deaths.
Because there are boxes in the theatre yonder,
You can boldly invite your guests.
Taganka's folks snatch up our playwrights,
And they too have learned to capture the soul.
They perform Bulgakov in boisterous delights,
And Pushkin - again, with their whole role.
Companies march in formation, precise and grand,
Two captains receive medals for their quick pace!
Only ten years older is Lyubimov, understand,
Plus "Ten Days..." - is that really such a space?!
They predicted various things - years in divination:
They'll play their games - and thunder will roar.
Besides, the bricks on the new foundations
Remind everyone of a state-owned door.
In history, we must seek examples true:
There was such a man in Russia's past -
He nailed a shield to the gates of Tsargrad,
And he was also called, it seems, Oleg, at last.
Seven years ago, you entered the Moscow Art's doors,
Rode in on a white, princely steed.
You've forged the steel, now everyone awaits what's in store -
From within, of course, and indeed.
Into the Moscow Art's mill, they poured
A molten heat - this much was achieved.
They almost singed the wings of "The Seagull," adored,
But, thank God, it ended with fame received.
In many ways, our interests coincide:
At "Taganka," they drink to the Old New Year.
Both companies boast "Mercedes" with pride,
But we lack "Seagulls," that much is clear.
And at "Taganka" - there's a commotion all around:
Before the tour, it boils and thrives -
A long road to Paris, they have found,
But "The Blue Bird" will not survive.
Here, the director within the actor dies,
But - here's a paradox and a bend:
Abdulov Seva - everyone knows his guise -
Almost perished within Efremov, my friend.
No, truly, we are alike, even in strife,
We live and do not sin against the truth:
I too almost died within a director's life,
And, by the way, with great pleasure, forsooth.
Actors come to the Moscow Art, and it's hardly
Because they pay more for their craft.
But God bless those who are on the boulevard, gladly,
Where Chistye Prudy has become more pure at last!
Yearn, Oleg, in precious moments so dear,
For those eternally and truly alive!
Everyone understands this nostalgia, it's clear,
For your former contemporaries who strive.
The Magi prophesied sorrowful ends:
That snakes dwell within the horse's skull.

We are a pair of creatures from Noah's Ark,
Two hemispheres of the same bark.
Don't make Oleg an academic, leave your mark!
Cast your black balls, united and stark!
And from the time when people descended from the trees,
This day is one of the most grand. We can rise
And raise a toast to ten five-year decrees -
For a hundred by two, for two twenty-fives!
