Там смуглянка-молдованка собирает виноград.
Я бледнею, я краснею, захотелось вдруг сказать:
"Станем над рекою зорьки летние встречать"
Раскудрявый клен зеленый, лист резной,
Я влюбленный и смущенный пред тобой.

Да раскудрявый резной.
А смуглянка-молдованка отвечала парню в лад:
"Партизанский молдованский собирается отряд.
Нынче рано партизаны дом покинули родной,
Ждет меня дорога к партизанам в лес густой"

Здесь у клена мы расстанемся с тобой,

И смуглянка-молдованка по тропинке в лес ушла,

Dark-Eyed Beauty

One summer morning at dawn, I peeked into the neighboring garden,

And the dark-eyed Moldavian girl answered the young man in tune:
"The Moldavian partisan detachment is gathering.
Today, early, the partisans left their home,
The road to the partisans awaits me, into the thick forest"

Here by the maple, we will part ways,

With your sprawling, carved leaves.
And the dark-eyed Moldavian girl walked down the path into the forest,
But I saw the hurt, that she didn't take me with her.
I often thought of the dark-eyed Moldavian girl at night,
Suddenly, I met my dark-eyed beauty in the detachment.
