Когда и с кем ты долю сватал
Жар закадычно загребал
А ныне - просто виноватый
И сыплет снежная крупа
За воротник, где манна тает
И точат струи позвонки
И остывает кровь густая
И чахнут летние венки.
Каждый встречный пальцем тычет
Всех собак спешит повесить
Оплеух и зуботычин раздает без меры
Когти-свёрла целит в горло
И ярлык цепляет свежий
Всё судачит звонкой сдачей
Пропасти и мели.
Не обещала жизнь поблажек
Гоняла вдоль и поперёк
Но, как и прежде, сердце пляшет –
Узнать бы, кто сие предрёк
То вверх, то вниз, и тоньше лезвий
Границы зыбкие времен
Где явь, где сон - рассудит трезвый
Кто незатейливо умен
Дрогнет ночь неверным зыком
Покачнутся мрачно своды
И зайдутся двуязыко в бесконечных спорах
И на части без причастий
Душу хрупкую изводят
Но хранится у божницы
Благодатный порох
И долог путь, а выбор краток:
Сомнений прорву не объять
На небе солнечное злато
Зовет тебя, зовет опять

Golden Sun

When and with whom you matched your lot,
The heat eagerly raked in,
But now - just guilty
And snowy groats are sprinkling,
Behind the collar, where manna melts,
And the streams sharpen the vertebrae,
And thick blood cools,
And summer wreaths wilt.
Every passerby points a finger,
Everyone is in a hurry to hang dogs,
Distributes slaps and cuffs without measure,
Aims drill claws at the throat,
And hangs a fresh label,
All chatters with ringing change,
Abysses and shoals.
Life promised no indulgences,
It chased me back and forth,
But, as before, my heart dances,
I wonder who predicted this,
Now up, now down, and thinner than blades,
The shaky boundaries of time,
Where reality, where dream - a sober one will decide,
Who is artlessly smart
The night will tremble with an unfaithful lisp,
The gloomy vaults will sway,
And in endless disputes they will get hung up on two tongues
And into parts without communion,
They torment the fragile soul,
But at the shrine is kept
Graceful gunpowder
And the path is long, but the choice is short:
You cannot embrace the abyss of doubts,
Golden sun in the sky
Calls you, calls you again,
