The Pirate

A grizzled old man, with a rather grim face,
Emerged from the tavern, a bottle of rum in his embrace.
He stumbled upon a group of young officers so bold,
And one of them said, "Well, look who we've caught, I behold!"
The days of valiant voyages have long since passed,
But years haven't softened his fearsome wrath.
A reward awaits you lads, for capturing me, you see!
But tell me, what good is it to the dead, agree?
There's no corner of the ocean we haven't explored,

He plunged a dagger into the buccaneer's neck, taking flight.
Dropping his bottle, the old man fell to the sand,
And from the wound, instead of blood, strong rum did expand...
