Уголёк вместо солнышка,

Пыль мешает мне петь.
Угольком сыт по горлышко,

Нам что снег, что жара, и в любую погоду
Молоточки стучат, разбивают породу.
Вагонетки бегут как метро по забою,

Half past five in the morning, the bells are ringing,

Birds find comfort in the high sky,
While miners sing their song deep beneath the line.
Little coal instead of sunshine,

For us, snow or heat, and in any weather
Hammers are pounding, breaking the rock.
