Жил однажды на свете Дьявол.
По морям-океанам плавал.
А меня никогда не видел

И спустил ладьею на волны

Ты меня ждала на причале
Не смыкала очей ночами

Я поставил бы светлый парус

The Devil's Tale

Once upon a time, there lived a Devil.
He sailed the seas and oceans wide.
He had never laid eyes on me,
Never heard a word about you.
He stole the bright moon from the sky
And lowered it onto the waves with a boat.
He comes with the night tide,
His oar crafted from olive wood.
You awaited me on the pier,
Eyes open through the long nights.
He saw you, my dove,
And the Devil forgot about eternity.
The Devil took on my appearance,
You wouldn't find even five differences.
He fell to his knees before you,
Kissing your cold hands.
I left you, my dove,
Promising to return soon.
I confused the sky with the water,
Sailed away chasing my misfortune.
You won't find those latitudes on maps,
Where I vanished with my loyal crew.
Where can I find the name of the wind that
Brings wanderers back home?
I would set a bright sail,
Rush back home at dawn,
Untie the moon from the pier,
So she could return home too!
But is it truly worth returning,
Is it worth it for me to rise again,
If the Devil lives in my place,
If the Devil sings you my songs?
