A Walk with the Moon

I wandered home along the autumn road,

A prickly drizzle, a cruel twist of fate,
An aching pain from long ago,
The moon called out, a gentle invite,
"Come, let's take a walk, just you and I."

My parents' table, humble and warm,
Where on holidays we gathered, all together,
Complete, not one soul gone.
The evening of loneliness draws near,
