В прошедшем "я любил"
Печальнее могил.
Все нежное во мне бескрылит и стреножит,
Хотя поэт поэтов говорил:
- Я вас любил, любовь еще, быть может...

Так говорят о брошенном, отцветшем -
И в этом жалость есть и снисходительность,
Как к свергнутому с трона королю.
Есть в этом сожаленье об ушедшем,
Стремленье, где утеряна стремительность,
И как бы недоверье к "я люблю".

Люблю тебя теперь
Без обещаний: "Верь!"
Мой век стоит сейчас - я век не перережу!
Во время - в продолжении "теперь" -
Я прошлым не дышу и будущим не грежу.

Приду и вброд и вплавь
К тебе - хоть обезглавь! -
С цепями на ногах и с гирями по пуду.
Ты только по ошибке не заставь,
Чтоб после "я люблю" добавил я и "буду".

Есть в этом "буду" горечь, как ни странно,
Подделанная подпись, червоточина
И лаз для отступления в запас,
Бесцветный яд на самом дне стакана
И, словно настоящему пощечина, -
Сомненье в том, что я люблю сейчас.

Смотрю французский сон
С обилием времен,
Где в будущем - не так и в прошлом - по-другому.
К позорному столбу я пригвожден,
К барьеру вызван я языковому.

Ах, - разность в языках!
Не положенье - крах!
Но выход мы с тобой
поищем и обрящем.
Люблю тебя и в сложных временах -
И в будущем и в прошлом настоящем!

I love you now
Not secretly - openly.
Not "after" and not "before", I'm burning in your rays.
In tears or laughing,
But I love you now,
And in the past - I don't want to, and in the future - I don't know.

In the past "I loved"
Sadder than a grave.
All tenderness in me un-wings and restrains,
Although the poet of poets said:
- I loved you, love still, perhaps...

This is said of the abandoned, the faded -
And there is pity and condescension in this,
As to a dethroned king.
There is regret in this for the departed,
An aspiration where swiftness is lost,
And, as it were, a distrust of "I love".

I love you now
Without promises: "Believe!"
My age stands now - I will not cut the age!
In time - in the continuation of "now" -
I do not breathe the past and do not dream of the future.

I'll come and wade and float
To you - even if you behead me! -
With chains on my feet and with weights of a pood.
Just don't let me wrong,
For after "I love" I have added "will be."

There is bitterness in this "will be", strangely,
A forged signature, a wormhole
And a loophole for a spare,
A colorless poison at the bottom of a glass
And, as if a real slap in the face, -
Doubt that I love now.

I watch a French dream
With an abundance of times,
Where in the future - not so and in the past - differently.
I am nailed to the pillar of shame,
I am called to the language barrier.

Ah, - the difference in languages!
Not a situation - a collapse!
But you and I will find
and we will find it.
I love you in difficult times -
In the future and in the past present!
