На стол головою, карманы с дырой
Выбился из сил - в небо рвался – акстись!
Водкой боль заливал, аки талой водой
Да коль услышал в небе гром – крестись не крестись
Как туман над болотом, над седою травой
По деревьям ползёт, лезет в душу страх!
Студит в жилах кровь, леденит волчий вой
Да на распутье только ветер живёт на камнях
Чья на то, чья на то, чья та колея
Бегала-петляла?
Аки пела, манила да звала
Путеводная!
А только брёл я лесами, да глядел в синеву
Путь-дорогу выспрашивал у стылых осин
Спал, где падал, вставал, видел сны наяву
Да каменели глаза в холодах русских зим
Над душою моей стоит в зените звезда
Коли сердцем в Пути - помолись за меня
Полна чаша всем тем, кто хранит свой дом
Нам же пусть путеводная светит огнём!

Exhausted, striving for the sky - recover!
Drowning my sorrows in vodka

Like fog over a swamp, over gray grass
Creeps through the trees, fear invades the soul
Chills the blood in my veins, freezes the wolf's howl
And only the wind lives on the stones at the crossroads
Whose track is this,
Curving and winding?
It beckoned, sang, and called to me
Guiding star!
But I wandered through the forests, staring at the blue
Asking cold aspen trees for directions
I slept where I fell, rose, saw dreams in reality
My eyes froze in the cold of the Russian winters
A star stands at its zenith over my soul
If you are on the Path with your heart - pray for me
A full cup to all who keep their home
May the guiding star shine its light on us!
